Rose Giordano

Rose Marie Giordano, 91, of Stamford passed away at home on Friday, February 16, 2018. She was born in Greenwich to the late Joseph and Jennie Monda Delaventura. Rose was a graduate of Stamford High School “Class of 1944.” Her cheery personality lent itself to a position in customer service, where she would be remembered as an employee of Grant’s, which became F.W. Woolworth retiring at it’s closing. She then went to Karp’s Hardware before her final retirement. Rose loved to sing, play the piano, and whistle. Her pastimes included crocheting, sewing and doing word puzzles. She also made the best stuffed artichokes, meatballs, and “Dadolls.” Rose is survived by her husband Ralph Giordano of Stamford, children Joyce Giordano of Stamford, Nancy Giordano of Norwalk, Garry Giordano and his wife Suzanne of Valrico, FL, Robert Giordano and his wife Marie of Miami, FL, Michael Giordano and his wife Angela of Stamford, Lisa Evensen and her husband John of Valrico, FL. Rose is also survived by her grandchildren Sean, Jacin, Matthew, Eric, Melissa, Zachariah, Samantha, and Dylan and her great grandchildren Aiden, Mason, Finnian, Molly, Noah, Emma, Zelda, Oona, and Lucas. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her eldest grandson Keith Bobersky, siblings Joseph Delaventura, Antoinette Correia, and Peter Delaventura. Family and friends may call to the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford, CT on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00PM. A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 9:10AM and processing to St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church 914 Newfield Ave. Stamford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. John’s R.C. Cemetery Darien, CT.
